Pam Nyberg

Director, Human-Centered Design
Pam Nyberg is the Director of Human-Centered Design at Humana, a Fortune 100 Health and Wellness company. She’s responsible for leading the company in the design of end-to-end experiences for customers and the people who support them. Her team’s outputs have included the development of new business opportunities, clinical programs, services, digital solutions, strategies, organizational processes, and systems infrastructure.

Pam has 25 years of global consulting and corporate experience in human centered design, innovation strategy, design education and design management. During her career, she’s led research, strategy, product, and platform development projects for companies including Whirlpool, Procter & Gamble, IDEO and Doblin. Her client list has included HP, McDonalds, Microsoft, Eli Lilly, Philips, Pepsi, and Boeing.

Educationally, she earned her Master’s in Design Strategy from Illinois Institute of Technology’s (IIT) Institute of Design, did Masters level work in Product Design at Stanford, has a Master’s in Human Factors Engineering from the University of Michigan, and earned a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from DePauw University.
Pam has guest-lectured in world class design programs including Stanford and IIT”s Institute of Design. Her and her team’s efforts have resulted in nine national and international design awards, her work has been recognized by Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, and her work has also been inducted into the Ford Museum’s permanent collection.
