Track Description
Technology can improve or harm our mental health. The evidence shows that it is a tool, and as such can serve as a means of connection or increased isolation, improving access to behavioral healthcare, or encouraging negative mental health choices. In this session we’ll hear from and speak with digital mental health specialists, each approaching the field from a different perspective. We'll see how technology can serve as a tool either alongside or (in some cases) in place of mental health professionals. Speakers will discuss the latest technologies, trends, and opportunities in digital mental health

Michaels Talk Description
Digital technology – including smartphone apps, wearable devices, IoT, AI, and immersive reality – have the potential to transform healthcare in general, and mental healthcare in particular. There is enormous opportunity to harness these tools to address critical challenges of mental healthcare: early identification and diagnosis; treatment access; engagement; psychoeducation; disease management; shared decision-making; cost effectiveness; quality control and the overall conduct of clinical trials. Although much research is being done in these areas, there have been no successful attempts to integrate multiple technological tools in a personalized fashion within specific real-world clinical setting.
